I get made fun of sometimes for my film choices...but what the hell
Want to be in a band that is actually creativly going somewhere? Live in evansville? Good. That's the two requirements.
We'd also prefer you be willing to dress strangely, and even if you're male, really overdo the makeup.. but thats ok if you wanna pass on that :d
The major requirement is that you be willing to break the mold of rock and roll and follow a path hybridized between goth and art rock, metal, experimental noise sculpture, ambient, and industrial/ebm.. look here. Augh. Evansville is not a receptive climate for this.
We're looking for guitarists willing to play heavily distorted yet reverbed and delayed noise lines one moment and spacy pads the next... lead guitarists willing to do classic style soloing over the massive landscape of guitar sound... drummers willing to play metronomicly one moment and solo the next. Contrast is the key.
4 -5 minute artful metal that could easily have internet radio exposure one moment.. 20 minute instrumental landscapes the next.
And they have to be able to put up with a singer who defies notions of conventional singing and does more vocal noises than anything. I have a habit of, and rather enjoy, running my mic through pedal after pedal till its very unrecognizable... and then melodicly singing on chorus's. Again, contrast. Noise, noise - short burst of extreme melody - noise.
Yeah, we've got a hard time getting people to stay with this - you can probably understand why. Can you blame them? But if you're feeling brave, pioneering, and maybe a little narcissistic, please contact me? Please? The 3 of us we currently are are getting a little sick of having people leave.
